The NP [Northern Pacific Railroad Company] is completed to Ashl and and the road will be opened for business to that point in a few days. The grant to this road requires that it shall be built east to Montreal River, about 40 miles this side of Ashl and , but no announcement is made as to when the remaining section will be constructed.
