Interview of Walter P. Joque (born 1919) regarding his service as a bombardier during World War II. He describes his time in the Thunderbird Field pilot training school, his missions in Sardinia flying B-26s, his experience getting shot down and taken prisoner, his detainment and treatment in Stalag Luft III, his forced evacuations to other prisons and the conditions there, his liberation by American military police, his recovery in the States, his resignment, his life after the war, and the lasting effect that his detainment had on him. <br> <br> <a href="https://uplink.nmu.edu/islandora/object/nmu%3A122133">Listen to the audio of this interview here.</a> |
