Copper Range Historical Society Photograph collection

About

This collection is an artificial collection of photographs gathered by the Copper Range Historical Society. The creator of the photographs is unknown. All of the photographs depict mines, mills, and railroads owned by the Copper Range Company, and they appear to date from approximately 1900 to 1940. The Copper Range Company, which was established in 1899, operated copper mines, mills, and railroads in Houghton and Ontonagon Counties. It merged with Louisiana Land and Exploration Company in 1977. For more information on the Copper Range Company's history, see this incredibly detailed history from the Michigan Tech Archives.
