Victoria Powerhouse Concrete Mixing for the Plant and Draft Chamber Walls

This photograph is one of a set depicting the Victoria Dam and Hydroelectric Power Plant and the surrounding area. The Victoria Dam and Hydroelectric Power Plant was built to provide power to Copper Range Company. Construction began in 1929 and the plant was in operation by 1931. The original 1930 pipeline was made using redwood logs until it was replaced by a fir pipeline in 1959. Ownership of the plant was eventually acquired in 1947 by the Upper Peninsula Power Company.
