Ernie Ronn (born 1925) discusses his family's background in mining, his education and childhood in Negaunee, his own career in iron mining, his job duties, wages, the ethnic groups in the mines, mining accidents, safety, how World War II affected the mining industry, the 1946 iron strike, and the continuing tensions and "scars" left by the strike. The audio quality of the tape is poor. |
