Description / Synopsis
Richard Leinonen was born in Hancock, Michigan in March 1953. He grew up in Tapiola, Michigan. After receiving a degree in civil engineering from Michigan Technological University, he served in the Air Force for several years. Leinonen describes how his family came to the Upper Peninsula, what it was like to grow up on a dairy farm, and his experiences while stationed in Europe and at K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base in Marquette County, Michigan. He also discusses his interest in languages, his experiences taking language classes at Northern Michigan University, and his experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic. |
