Bay Mills Community College Library Native American Artifacts photographs

About

This collection consists of photographs of Native American artifacts from the Great Lakes region. Although the photographs were taken in the early 2000s, the artifacts themselves date from approximately the 1830s to the 1960s. They were created by a number of tribes in the Great Lakes region, including the Ojibwe, Winnebago, Iroquois, and Potawatomi.

The physical collection was maintained by Bay Mills Community College Library and Heritage Center (now the Bay Mills Community College Library), but the artifacts have since been repatriated to their tribes of origin. The digital photographs were originally part of the Superiorland Library Cooperative's Upper Peninsula Regional Digitization Center.
